Baby Grackle

While I was out walking the Sanibel Garden Preserves on Sunday, I heard a baby bird and quickly spotted it sticking its neck out of the nesting box. I also noticed the parents nearby with food in their beak and I was under the impression that they were trying to lure the baby out. Eventually they went over to the box and dropped the food inside which the baby quickly gobbled up.

This was an interesting observation because as soon as the parents were nearby, the baby would become quiet. It seemed to be the only one in the box.
