Once upon a time, I stumbled unto a Black-necked Stilt getting ready for a little family. This was a nice quiet little spot, ideal for raising its family. The Black-necked Stilt is a shallow water wader, it is easily excitable and noisy at times - alerting predators to their nesting site. This wader arrives in my area (Sanibel) in March, have their family and leave shortly after the chicks have grown - mid to late July.
