As I sat down to write a new piece in this blog this morning, I was surprised to see that it has only been a week since I posted - yet it feels like eons ago. You see, my husband/partner/friend landed in the hospital this week with heart complications - needless to say, it's been a week of tests, procedures and preparation for the operation tomorrow. My routine and my life has been altered and my emotional/physical/spiritual state feels in limbo - and as such I knew that I needed to take a bit of time to regroup, breathe and loose myself in internal peace - what better way to do that than head to the shore.....come along....
I knew that I would find exactly what I needed - such as a beautiful sunrise with the promises of a new day and all that it offers. |
Such peace for our feathered friends - enjoying this precious time before the beach goers arrive. |
And I think in a way we are not so different and in this instance I/we need to take care of first thing first. |
This Yellow-Crowned Night Heron should be called the Crab King - I'm happy to see it because it loves to eat Ghost Crabs which are big predators for our Snowy Plovers and Sea Turtle Hatchlings. |
The Brown Pelicans were hanging in big groups today - another reminder to surround myself with loving friends/families during this hardship. |
A Sanderling in its element. |
The new kid on the block - so innocent and so vulnerable - I wish this Snowy Plover the best. This fellow has good genes, the mom has been nesting on Sanibel for 7 years in a row now. |
"Fly away, fly away, fly away"....a song that just came back to my head. |
Peace and tranquility for the time being. |
A Black-bellied Plover - so attractive these days. |
So, dear friends, keep us in your positive thoughts as we enter another week - this time with risky procedures - I'm hoping for the best and for a brighter tomorrow. |
I'll be praying for your husband, France.
