There is a little family of Red-bellied Woodpecker growing inside my dead palm tree, the parents have their hands full as they go and take turns in gathering some grubs for the little ones.
When one of the parent arrives, we can hear the little chatter of the little ones down below - here is mama with a nice juicy grub |
in she goes to deliver the goods |
Peeking out to make sure the coast is clear, |
and then gathering up materials to keep the nest clean |
In the mean time, Dad arrives with a fresh catch |
soon after mama came with her own catch |
licking her chops after the meal delivery |
more clean up |
"I think I'll turn in for the day." |
