Wood Stork copulating

While I visited the Wakodahatchee with the Caloosa Bird Club - we all had great views of multiple Wood Stork engaging in their mating ritual - bringing sticks to the nest, clacking their bills together, nestling together and copulating.....what a treat that was!

BTW, this was the quiet version.

  1. Amazing that they can nest in a relatively public setting!

    1. We are most fortunate to be able to witness their courtship just a few feet away, every time I go there I am awed by it.
